How are you involved in education?
I currently serve as the Director of Technology and Cyber Education in the Quakertown Community School District in Bucks County, PA. Having served as a classroom teacher, Middle School Assistant Principal, and Elementary Principal, I'm passionate about differentiated professional development, technology infusion, and personalized learning for both teachers and kids. By the time EdCamp USDOE arrives, I will have transitioned to a new role with the Alliance for Excellent Education in Washington DC, as the State and District Digital Learning Director. In this role, I will help to oversee both Project 24 and Digital Learning Day.
What's your ideal school or classroom like?
My ideal classroom is one in which student voice matters, content and instruction is personalized based on each student's needs, technology plays a key role in extending the learning and creating unique learning paths, teachers are empowered to make decisions and have autonomy, student devices are welcome, and teachers do whatever it takes for the students to be successful.
