Currently, I am a Professional Development and Instructional Lead Teacher at Walker MIll Middle School. Before coming out of the classroom, I was a 7th Grade English/Language Arts teacher who utilized flipped learning, gamification and game based learning as part of my instructional practice.
What does your ideal classroom look like?
My ideal school would be a place where students have the freedom to explore their career path and develop the necessary skills to achieve that goal. This freedom would include travel once a quarter so that students can have diverse cultural and career experiences. Students would utilize cutting edge, state of the art technology and have direct access to the greatest innovators, experts, mentors, business leaders, and teachers in the world. The curriculum would be designed so that students are active problem solvers for the ongoing social, environmental, economic, and political problems of the world. Community partnerships would be relevant to the student's interests and goals, and embedded within the curriculum
