I just completed my fifth year of teaching. The past two years I have been the STEM elective teacher at Graham Middle School in the Alamance-Burlington School System in North Carolina. Previously I taught science. This coming up year I will take on a hybrid role in a blended environment teaching students and coaching teachers. I am a Kenan Fellow as well as a Siemens STEM Institute Fellow.
What does your ideal classroom look like?
My ideal classroom would be one where students are able to explore their passions. The space should allow for individuality and creativity. Students would drive their learning through their interests. Personalized learning would prevail and students would be learning at their own pace by blending classroom facilitation, online content, and community experiences.
If you were to lead a session at Edcamp USDOED, what would it be about?
